Tap Water is Full of Fluoride - Alkanatur North America

Tap Water is Full of Fluoride

Public water fluoridation has generally been seen as safe and necessary, in order to protect against tooth decay. However, recent discoveries have raised questions about fluoride, and its potential health concerns with excess intake. On the international front, most of the west European countries have rejected water fluoridation, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Fluoride Risks

At recommended levels (typically around 0.7-1.2 mg/L), fluoride may strengthen tooth enamel. However, exceeding these levels can lead to dental fluorosis, causing white spots to form on teeth. In severe cases, high fluoride intake can even adversely impact bone health.

Tap Water's Fluoride Content

Municipal water supplies monitor fluoride levels, but these can vary depending on location, and natural fluoride presence in source water. While many public water systems fall within the recommended range, some may exceed it. If you're concerned about your tap water's fluoride content, you can:

  • Contact your local water authority: They should be able to provide information on current fluoride levels.
  • Invest in a home water testing kit: These kits can test for various contaminants, including fluoride.

Filtration For Peace of Mind

If you're concerned about excess fluoride or simply want more control over your drinking water, filtration systems offer a solution. You might opt for whole house systems, though these can be several thousand dollars to install. High quality water pitchers are a more affordable alternative. However, it is imperative to purchase one that goes beyond the basics, and filters out more than just part of the chlorine.

Alkanatur Water Pitchers

Most tap water is full of chlorine, fluoride, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, nitrates, excess calcium, and other impurities. Apart from purifying all these from your water, our pitcher ionizes, alkalizes, and mineralizes, which creates antioxidant water. Our filter uses all natural coconut carbon fiber and bio-ceramics, as well as adding essential minerals like Magnesium.

Alkanatur is the only pitcher that does not use the ion-exchange resin method, which adds sodium into the water. Our plastics are all certified BPA free, which ensures no endocrine disruptors.

Taking Charge of Your Health

It is important to explore the makeup of one of our largest consumables - water. Exploring filtration options empowers you to make informed decisions for your long-term well-being. By taking a proactive approach, you can ensure you and your family are getting the healthiest possible drinking water.
