You’ve probably heard a lot about alkaline water and its health benefits. But what does the science really say? Can alkaline water really help you perform better as an athlete? Let’s take a look, and consider Alkanatur filtered water.
What is Alkaline Water?
First, let’s start with a quick refresher on what alkaline water is. Alkaline water has a higher pH level than regular drinking water. This means it is less acidic and has a higher concentration of alkalizing compounds, like calcium, magnesium, and potassium.
Some people believe that alkaline water can help neutralize acid in the body, which may lead to health benefits like improved hydration, increased energy levels, and even better digestion. However, there is no scientific evidence to support these claims.
Does Alkaline Water Improve Athletic Performance?
So, what does the science say about alkaline water and athletic performance? Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of research on the subject. However, one small study made by Montana State University shows that consuming alkaline water before exercise may help decrease fatigue, hydrates better and improve performance in cyclists.
The study looked at 38 male cyclists that were an average of 40 years old. Each of the men in the study participated in two trials each a week a part. One trial was conducted with mineral alkaline water with a 10 pH. The other trial used bottled water that had a pH of 7.
The cyclists who consumed alkaline water were better hydrated by retaining 79.2% of the alkaline water they drank, versus. 62.5% of the plain water. Which means cyclists were about 17% better hydrated by drinking the alkaline water than they were with plain water. Additionally, in another studies has also been seen athletes with lower levels of lactate in their muscles after exercise, which suggests that they experienced less fatigue.

I am so happy with my beautiful, soft green Alkanatur water filter pitcher! It is lightweight, lovely to look at, free of toxic materials, and easy to set up and use. Most importantly, my filtered water has a silk-like consistency and a taste that is pure heaven!! I have, in the past, had a Zero Water pitcher and a Clearly Filtered water pitcher, neither of which favourably compare to the Alkanatur pitcher. It is a fairly small pitcher and requires more fills, but that is not a significant issue for me at all given how lovely the water tastes. Moreover, the filter will last twice as long as others. So, there it is: my review of the exceptional Alkanatur water filter pitcher! I highly recommend Alkanatur!!

I love my pitcher. I feel good knowing I'm doing my body some good. Since drinking I have much more energy, it has heightened all of my senses, no more brain fog. I'm a mother of 5 with 2 cesareans so my digestive muscles will never be the same, this is helping me to pass regularly and with ease. Now when I wake up in the early mornings I'm able to keep going without that sluggish feeling. Totally worth the investment to yourself and loved ones. The only thing I will add is that I did not get the glass jar on the pitcher, I was sent a plastic bottle which was kind of disappointing.
The difference in the taste of the water is undeniable! I have never tasted such fresh, clean water. After having used the Alcantaras water filter and pitcher for a couple of weeks, without going into the details, my health is even better. I wish we would’ve been drinking this water a long time ago. The pitcher looks great love the color green. This one came with the white filters, after follow the filter activation and tasted the water. It was good no chlorine taste in it. Seems like it's going to be a good water filter pitcher.
